GLOBAL FABRIC MANUFACTURER LAUNCHES AI-POWERED IMAGE SEARCH TOOL IN THE UK

Camira, a leading international designer and manufacturer of commercial textiles based in Mirfield, West Yorkshire, has unveiled the UK’s first AI-powered image search tool specifically designed for the textile industry. This pioneering tool aims to simplify the specification process for architects and design professionals.

The cutting-edge technology, developed in collaboration with material search platform Stylib, has been seamlessly integrated into Camira’s website, which launched earlier this year. Using artificial intelligence, the search tool allows users to upload images of furniture, fabrics, room settings, or Pantone colour references to quickly locate the most suitable Camira fabrics for their projects.

Sam Birkhead, Head of Digital at Camira, commented: “We’re incredibly excited to offer our customers this intuitive new tool, which helps architects and designers find the exact products they need in a fraction of the time. This not only streamlines research but also increases the accuracy of their choices.

“There are very few B2B companies in the world using image search technology, which has until now been dominated by giants like Ikea, Wayfair, and major fashion retailers. These advancements speed up the specification process, leading to more efficient project timelines and improved design quality. The integration of AI is truly transforming the architectural sector, creating smarter, more sustainable, and innovative environments.”

Noam Naveh, CEO of Stylib, added: “It’s great to see industry leaders like Camira adopting advanced technologies to support the specifying community. Beyond improving speed and confidence in the specification process, AI in the architectural products sector also has wider implications for sustainability, innovation, and collaboration. AI’s ability to analyse vast datasets helps identify eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient solutions, promoting sustainable design practices. Additionally, AI provides architects with insights into emerging trends and technologies, enabling them to push the boundaries of creativity.”
