TaperedPlus, based in Stockton-on-Tees with a technical design studio in Wolverhampton, has affirmed its commitment to building safely by signing theBuilding a Safer Future Charter.
The Charter was developed in response to Dame Judith Hackitt’sBuilding a Safer Future Review, which followed the Grenfell Tower tragedy in 2017. The Grenfell disaster, in which 72 lives were lost, exposed severe shortcomings in building safety standards and highlighted the urgent need for systemic change in the design and management of buildings.
By signing the Charter, TaperedPlus commits to five key principles designed to drive cultural change and improve building safety: collaboration, transparency, integrity, community, and communication. The Charter is open to adoption by any organisation involved in the construction, design, and management of buildings, regardless of height.
This significant pledge aligns with TaperedPlus' recent achievement of the globally recognised B Corp accreditation, showcasing its broader dedication to positive impact – benefiting communities, consumers, employees, and the environment.
Aman Chahal, CEO of TaperedPlus, said:
“Safety is paramount in our industry. By signing theBuilding a Safer Future Charter, we are not only committing to making tangible improvements to our practices but also leading by example in promoting a culture of safety.
“Our B Corp accreditation, coupled with our dedication to transparency, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement, will help us ensure that safety remains top of the agenda.”
