Darlington-based engineering firm, Ardmore Craig, is a ‘hive of activity’ following the opening of its new premises, which it secured following a 25% growth in its workforce.
Andy Stephenson, who founded the company in 2010, has overseen the firm’s significant expansion, including relocating to The Beehive at Lingfield Point, Darlington.
The firm was previously headquartered at Business Central, however it has increased its staff so substantially in the past three months, the decision was taken to scale up to a larger office.
Andy Stephenson said: “Developing a concrete growth strategy has been fundamental to the business expansion that has taken place this year at Ardmore Craig.
“During the past eight years, we have worked in Newton Aycliffe and Business Central, and choosing our next location was a big step and not one we took lightly”
Following the period of growth at the business, Andy sought the expertise of business coach and mentor, Dr David Cliff to support future expansion plans.
Andy added: “David’s contributions to choosing a beneficial location and office environment was extremely useful. The new premises accommodates our needs effectively, enabling us to recruit more employees as we develop the business.
“David and I have established a great working relationship, meaning that I can always rely on his insights ahead of making crucial decisions. I am excited to see the business develop further over the next 12 months with his support and advice.”
Andy and David established a promising relationship at a mentoring session held at the Entrepreneurs’ Forum in 2017, following a number of recommendations from fellow members.
Dr David Cliff, who is the Managing Director of Sunderland-based Gedanken, is an expert coach and mentor with more than 35 years of management and personal development experience. He works with a number of business leaders across the UK to help them to develop their working practices.
David said: “I am delighted that Ardmore Craig has experienced further growth since Andy and I began collaborating together last year. It was a great fit, as we’re both natural problem solvers, and so it made for a brilliant working relationship immediately.
“I look forward to working with an increasing number of growing firms in the region as more business leaders recognise the value of coaching and mentoring services for personal and company development.”
