Nortech Group, one of the UK’s leading engineering services providers, has announced a senior appointment to support the company’s continued international growth.
Phil Morland has joined Nortech’s Senior Management Team as Head of Projects. He will oversee and deliver large-scale projects across the globe for a wide range of clients, alongside supporting the directors in the strategic growth of Nortech’s operations.
With previous experience in working for client, contractor and consultant organisations throughout his career, Phil has vast experience in project management. Before joining the team at Nortech, Phil held the position of Senior Project Manager for a major oil, gas and petrochemical contracting organisation.
Phil has also gained valuable industry knowledge and experience from his development and execution of major projects in the power and renewables sector, including the UK’s first large-scale biomass power station.
He also possesses several high-level industry qualifications, including a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Mechanical Engineering, as well as being a Chartered Mechanical Engineer.
Nortech has experienced strong growth in recent months. Building on its partnership with MTE and diversification following the acquisition of specialist engineering business STS, the company has also secured projects internationally in the Middle East and Europe.
Ian Basford, Director at Nortech, said: “Nortech’s recent success in winning major commissions on new projects has created the requirement to appoint a highly-experienced and respected professional to support successful delivery and generate a new pipeline of work in the UK and around the world.”
“Phil’s strong technical, commercial and contractual skill set and reputation within the engineering industry are real assets to Nortech and we are delighted to have attracted him to the company.”
Phil Morland, Head of Projects at Nortech, said: “After establishing a great relationship with Nortech as a client in the past, I am very pleased to join the team as Head of Projects”.
“The business has established itself in a relatively short time as a very professional engineering, consultancy and staffing solutions specialist that consistently delivers results. I am confident we can grow the business further based on this principle and win more work in the future.”
