Nortech Group has established a new Joint Venture Company in Abu Dhabi to further grow its presence in the United Arab Emirates and the wider Middle East.
Al Dhabi Nortech Engineering Consultancy LLC is a joint venture between Nortech and leading Middle East contracting company, Dhabi Contracting LLC and builds on the Dhabi Nortech brand the companies founded in 2015.
Prior to the JV agreement Dhabi Contracting acted as partner and sponsor to support Nortech’s entry in the market, which led to securing two significant contracts.
Dhabi Nortech provides Engineering Design (Engineering House) and Project Management Consultant (PMC) solutions for UAE’s oil & gas, process, petrochemical, chemical, infrastructure and energy sectors.
The business provides fully-integrated engineering design, project management and construction services from project feasibility to completion. It has established new offices in Abu Dhabi with a workforce of 12, which is made up local engineers and specialists from Nortech Group’s UK division.
Among the recruits is a new Regional Business Development Manager for the Middle East, Tom Milburn, who will drive future growth of the JV building on Dhabi Nortech’s initial successes in the region.
In the past 18 months Dhabi Nortech has secured and delivered two significant projects with Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Ltd (GASCO). Firstly, it undertook a flare system upgrade at one of GASCO’s major onshore gas processing facilities.
This was followed by the provision of project management and Front End Engineering Design study services for the replacement of Liquid Sulphur Loading Arm & Electrical Heat Trace System at a GASCO facility.
Bryan Bunn, Managing Director of the Nortech Group, said: “Founding this Joint Venture approach is a significant step towards establishing a strong presence for Nortech in the UAE market. The initial success we have achieved by securing and delivering projects for such a prestigious company as GASCO demonstrates there is a market for our niche services, which we will develop alongside our partner, Dhabi Contracting.”
He added: “Combining our expertise in engineering design and management consultancy with Dhabi Contracting’s experience in civil engineering and electro-mechanical engineering will meet the requirements of evolving UAE and Middle East industries and companies operating in markets such as oil & gas and chemical processing.”
Sami Edwards, General Manager of Dhabi Contracting, said: “The approach Dhabi Nortech has brought to the UAE has proven to be effective and establishing this JV is the natural next step to deliver further growth in the market. The UK expertise Nortech brings to this enterprise, alongside our extensive experience, will ensure that customers across the region will benefit from our specialist technical services.”
