Harley Haddow, the multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy, has launched a new energy division off the back of burgeoning demand for Net Zero services as government targets loom.
Following on from rapidly accelerating growth and a raft of high-profile Net Zero project wins Harley Haddow have invested in this Building Performance and Sustainability division and are actively recruiting to triple their workforce within it by 2024.
The consultancy has added additional skillsets to the BP&S team with the inclusion of NABERS assessor accreditations and skills in design for performance modelling, which will ensure that energy performance modelling aids delivery of energy targets for buildings.
Led by Principal Building Performance engineer Lindsay Adams, who heads the BPS team of dedicated representatives in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester and London, the new division has been consolidated and enhanced to focus on diversifying their skills to meet changing market demands.
Harley Haddow have long pioneered a sustainable approach, with their designs embedding sustainable, low energy and low carbon building principles and as a result have become leaders in their field in building energy performance, sustainability and Net Zero.
Net Zero has been a huge growth area for the company in recent years, particularly as public and private organisations recognise the need to act now to be able to achieve Net Zero targets and harness the opportunities of improving new and existing builds to reduce carbon emissions.
Meeting targets here is essential, particularly as the built environment currently contributes some 40% of the UK’s carbon emissions and it is estimated that the construction sector contributes up to 11% of global carbon emissions.

Harley Haddow has been recognised for their work in this area on various projects including the iconic BAFTA Headquarters in London and The Johnnie Walker Experience, Edinburgh. All projects contained elements of sustainability provided by the consultancy’s Net Zero experts.
