 Cleveland Bridge strengthens Structures Team to support international constructional steel projects

Cleveland Bridge UK Ltd has expanded its Structures Team to increase its support of developments in the civil and commercial building markets in the UK and internationally.

With extensive experience in the sector, having been involved in a wide range of projects including The Shard in London and the Emirates Towers in Dubai, Cleveland Bridge has recruited an additional five technical specialists.

They will increase the capabilities of the team, which manages the design, fabrication and installation of structural steelwork for large buildings.

Joining the team are Engineering Manager Patrick Jackson, Senior Projects Manager Andrew Limbert, Production Manager Gary Kipling, Construction Manager Guy Laws and Proposals Manager Steve Quinney.

Joining Cleveland Bridge from William Hare UAE, Patrick Jackson has worked as Engineering Manager of a series of high profile projects ranging from the extension to the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai and Zayed University in Abu Dhabi.

Andrew Limbert joins the company from Severfield UK and has been involved in the management of significant projects in the UK and India including the construction of the Prestige Trade Tower in Bangalore and the redevelopment of Kings Cross Station in London.

Joining from Hambleton Steel Ltd, Gary Kipling has a wealth of building structures experience not only from Hambleton Steel, but previously with William Hare and Severfield Rowen, where he worked his way up from Apprentice Fabricator.

With particular experience in the sports and leisure sector, Proposals Manager Steve Quinney, who previously worked for TEMA Engineering Ltd and Rowecord Engineering has been involved in steelwork elements of developments at the British Museum, The Cardiff City Stadium and Swansea City FC’s Liberty Stadium.

Guy Laws joins Cleveland Bridge with a wealth of construction and structures experience in the UK and the Middle East. After working as Construction Supervisor with Hollandia on the Wembley Stadium development, Guy spent eight years with Bourne Steel on a variety of structure projects before moving to Abu Dhabi joining AIC as Construction Manager. Prior to his new role at Cleveland Bridge, Guy was a Site Manager for Severfield.

The group join International Sales Director, Tim Outteridge, who leads the team, and existing Technical Director Gursharan Thind. Tim, who has a 25-year background in civil engineering and construction, is also Deputy President of the British Constructional Steelwork Association.

Gursharan was appointed Technical Director at Cleveland Bridge in 2015 having worked in structural engineering and project management in Kenya, Sri Lanka, India and the United Kingdom for more than 30 years on projects such as Heathrow Terminal 5 and the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.
